PD 2 Reflection
For physical diagnosis 2 I can confidently say I felt a lot more comfortable when doing my history and physical at my hospital visits. This semester I began to question myself less and be more confident in my own abilities which I believe showed through my work. I would also say that now I am able to do my history and physical in a reasonable amount of time while also still hitting all the points that I need to for my respective patient. The addition of the differential diagnosis and plan did cause me to struggle a little bit in …

Final Reflection on Clinical Correlations
I believe that I had a good grasp of all the topics discussed in our sessions and was able to pull out crucial information from the cases presented. One thing I realized in this class is that I need to trust myself more, I tend to not trust myself like I should and look for confirmation of my thoughts through the internet. Furthermore, I believe I supported my ideas and points adequately and was able to efficiently “connect the dots” within each case. Within regards to communication, I believe that I contributed a good amount to the class, as …

Ethical Argument Essay
The article I have chosen represents a conflict within the field of assisted reproduction and is between the two principles of patient autonomy and nonmaleficence. Before I delve into those aspects and why they relate to the article I am going to summarize the case. In this case a couple is presenting to an infertility clinic with the hopes of having a child despite both future parents having achondroplasia. They are aware of the risk of the child suffering from a still birth if his/her genetics are homozygous for achondroplasia. The doctor knowing this as well suggests preimplantation genetic diagnosis …
Ethics Course Project
The Limits of Patient Autonomy in Regards to Religious Values As future medical providers, we are taught that respect for patient autonomy is one of the four pillars of medical ethics. It is our due diligence to no longer tell a patient what to do but rather via shared decision making, educate the patient on what their medical options are, what we would recommend based on our expertise and together, determine what the next course of action may be. This idea of shared decision making also considers that the patient is of sound mind, understands inherent risks and benefits of …
