I learned a lot during my time at my OBGYN rotation; I feel as if the providers I worked with made it a point to get me involved by having me do various procedures and writing the notes myself. At this rotation I further sharpened different skills such as taking a history, writing notes, and physical examinations. I would interview the patient myself, do the appropriate screening tests such as breast exams, Pap smears, STD testing, and pelvic exams under supervision, and then writing a note. During my site evaluation, I presented a 26-year-old male presented to the clinic care complaining of vaginal itching and discharge for 4 days, as well as for her annual visit. I made sure to outline the sexual history, obstetric history, and gynecological history. I outlined the pelvic exam and made sure to describe the discharge that I visualized. The name of the article I chose was Probiotics for vulvovaginal candidiasis in non‐pregnant women by Huan Yu Xie and was published to the Cochrane database of systematic reviews in November of 2017. This is a systematic review that included 10 trials, and included data from 1656 women, with a sample size ranging from 68 to 436 participants. The included trials recruited participants aged between 16 and 50 years. All the selected trials recruited participants without RVVC, diabetes mellitus, immunosuppressive disorders, taking immunosuppressant medication or evidence of co‐infection with other vulvovaginal infections. All trials used probiotics as adjuvant therapy to antifungal drugs.
